MiniMac, design C: Split stage

The fold is the idea. One half of the phone never moves: your Mac's screen sits there edge to edge, a fixed stage that nothing ever covers, while the other half is a calm column that changes with what you are doing. Keys, a trackpad, a menu or a list take turns below the picture, and on the folded cover the same rule holds, top and bottom.

Direct. Your phone and Mac Studio are on the same network.

Away from home it says Relayed instead: the picture goes through our relay, still private, about 40 to 80 ms.

Connecting. One big honest number. The picture fades in on the stage as it arrives.

Folded: Mac on top, keys below.

Laptop pose. Half open on the desk: the Mac's screen stands up above the fold, the trackpad lies flat below it, and nothing touchable sits on the hinge.

Picture up, hands down.

Half open, the Duo becomes a tiny MacBook. The top half is the stage and it never moves, never shrinks, never gets a toolbar laid over it.

Everything you touch lives below the fold: a short line naming the Mac and how fast it is, the key bar, and a trackpad the width of the phone. The 40 points across the hinge stay empty, so a resting thumb never clicks anything.

Open flat: a cinema with a side table.

Open flat, sideways. The stage takes three quarters of the glass in a dark letterbox; the side column becomes a keypad of held modifiers, arrows and a small trackpad. Here command is held while the next key is pressed.
