Design E: Login window

Getting into a Mac already has a ceremony everyone knows: the blurred wallpaper, the big clock, a row of round faces, a translucent field with an arrow. MiniMac borrows it. Your Macs are the accounts; picking one is signing in.

Exploratory set, not the chosen Poster look. Phones are 402 × 874 pt; the Duo is its 669 × 951 pt inner screen with the fold at 455.5 to 495.5.

Welcome. First launch is a login window with one account on it: the app. The password field is the start button, so the first thing you learn is the gesture you will use every day.

Look for Macs nearby

MiniMac finds your Macs on this Wi-Fi. iPhone will ask you to allow Local Network next; say Allow.

Nothing leaves your network.

Not now
Look nearby. The pre-ask before iOS shows its Local Network alert. One sentence of why, then the system prompt; turning it down later lands on Add a Mac.

Hint: your Studio login, not Apple Account.
Use a pairing code instead

Pairing code
Wrong password. The field shakes side to side (drawn here with its two ghost positions), keeps the dots, and a warm red line says what happened. After three tries it offers the pairing code.

Connected, iPhone Duo. The same parting, at full size: the desktop of Studio arrives sharp above the hinge, the keyboard deck below it. The blur was always this wallpaper, just out of focus.

The wallpaper is the brand

A Gold Coast dusk, drawn from layered CSS gradients and blurred, so it costs nothing to ship. It returns sharp as the Mac desktop on connect, which makes the transition read as focus arriving.

Materials degrade cleanly

Every translucent field and button uses backdrop blur where the browser or iOS supports it, and a solid slate fill where it does not. Both pass contrast with white text.

No logo, no borrowed marks

No Apple logo anywhere, menu bar included. The Mac drawings are simple silhouettes of Studio, MacBook Air and Mini, in the app’s own colours.
